While she may already be committed to playing in college, Jazmine Bennett is in no hurry to leave her team; she has almost done the exact opposite. As the leader and striker for Bishop McDevitt, the team has gone on an insane run to be 17-1-0 on the year. But as the nickname suggests, the Crusaders still have work to do before they are crowned champions.

But until then, they can enjoy their latest victory over fellow powerhouse, the Trinity Shamrocks. Bennett, who had a goal in the 2-1 win for the Crusaders, said: "The win pumped everyone up. It was a true team win. We're excited to carry that momentum into the playoffs." She also ensured that coaches and her team knew that work still needed to be done.

While it may seem like they've had it easy due to their record, they have had a very tough Mid-Penn capital conference schedule throughout the year. Bennett sees this as a huge bonus: "I believe it helped us to trust each other and work more as a team."

Bennett says the team has been looking for this moment since July, when they began this process of building a championship-caliber team, and they dubbed this season "The Comeback Tour."

When asked what it would mean to leave on a championship, Bennett said, "A championship would send the seniors off with the ultimate accomplishment, and at the same time, it would set the bar high for the underclassmen. We went back-to-back for Mid-Penn division champs, but that's not enough for us, and we honestly feel this can be our year."

Bennett has also committed to continuing her athletic and academic career at George Mason University. She plans to major in psychology and enter sports psychology once her playing career is over. When asked why she picked George Mason, Bennett said, "The coaches, players, and the school made me choose it. I also really love the area, and it felt like home when I got the chance to go.

While it's not in the bag yet, it seems like Bennett and her team of Crusaders can take on anyone and win that championship. Good luck to her and the entire girl's soccer team at Bishop McDevitt.
