Camp Hill set as top seed in 2A tournament

Camp Hill came out on top as the District 3 2A champions last year with 4 losses heading into the postseason. With 4 regular season losses yet again, the Lions are looking to do the same thing here again in 2022.

Camp Hill started off their season with a 1-0 win against cross-town rival, the Trinity Shamrocks. Then, they traveled to Bermudian Springs and were humbled after letting up 6 in the sixth inning and losing 11-10 to the Eagles. Since then, it's been going very well for the small school in a small town. They've lost to James Buchanan, East Penn, and West Perry since and most recently took second place in the the Mid Penn tournament.

That wasn't the only hardware on the week for the Lions, though. PennLive held their banquet and named their athletes of the year for each respective sport. Camp Hill not only notched women's golfer of the year, Paige Richter, but also Junior pitcher Luke Parise won PennLive's baseball player of the year.

Luke has been an absolute force on the mound this season. He pitched in the wonderful pitcher's duel against Greencastle in the Mid Penn semi-final against Andrew Kerns, another fine pitcher of the area.

Parise's value is off the charts, and the playoffs are certainly his time to shine. The Junior ace pitched a complete game, 9-1 score against Newport in last season's district championship.

As for Camp Hill's bats, you can count on lineup to load the bases up. The Lions start off with probable pitcher for tomorrow's game, Christian Doi. As a skill position player who doubles as a running back and wide receiver, as well as a college commit for wrestling, Doi is by far the most athletic and fast kid in the lineup. Ben Tyler, arguably the Lions best bat hits in the four spot.

The Lions should be able to secure a win at home tomorrow against Kutztown, the overall 4 seed in the tournament. They'll go on to face the winner of Delone Catholic/Upper Dauphin in the 2A Championship game.
