Trinity’s only lacrosse coach in program history, is no longer the only lacrosse coach in program history. Today, Coach Dave Heisey was fired as the head coach of Trinity lacrosse.
Coach Heisey, a decorated coach to say the least, had an upmost dedication to the program. The team, under him, won the District 3 2A championship twice, most recently in 2021 against Susquehannock. This year, Trinity finished 3rd in the District, and 2nd in the Mid Penn.
It’s a team full of talent, with multiple players bound for NCAA Division 1 lacrosse, most notably JR Long, heading to Holy Cross, and Justin Bordner, going to Providence. No matter who the new coaching hire is, the team is bound for success, but it will take someone who is better than the best in order to beat Cumberland Valley.
CV is the biggest wall in the way from Trinity becoming a powerhouse in the Mid-State. The continued losses to CV could be a potential idea into Coach Heisey’s shocking departure.
A man who came from Harrisburg Academy and has been involved in lacrosse since the 70s, now has to find a new outlet into his love for lacrosse, and Trinity now on the look for a new replacement.
